In 2010, Hands will be partnering with foundations, corporations, individuals and local groups to provide roadside safety/emergency kits to each client we serve.

Just as driving an automobile that is not properly maintained poses a great danger for single parents & widows, so does having a car that breaks down on the side of the road. This not only endangers their physical safety, but also puts them at risk of being taken advantage of by tow truck companies and automobile repair shops.

These 73 piece kits will include booster cables, a flashlight, an air compressor and a AAA Emergency Car Care Guide. For a complete list please see the information sheet. The will be given to everyone served through the automobile repair, car care clinic programs and to partner organizations who serve single parents and widows in different ways.

The Results

Hands of the Carpenter will provide automobile safety/emergency kits and training with mechanics at these car care clinics in order to empower our clients to attend to some of the basic issues that affect drivers. We expect the results to be that our clients will have knowledge and peace of mind when traveling alone or with their children.
